The Reverend Donna Childs, Interim Pastor
“Call out to me and I will answer you and will show you great and mighty things, secrets you do not know.”      
Jeremiah 33:3.
This scripture has encouraged Donna and motivated her to seek God’s will for her life. Donna Childs was born and raised in Milwaukee in the Christian home of Mother Gleneva Childs and Deacon Martin Childs Sr.  She commenced and received her Christian roots at the Tabernacle Community Baptist Church and is still a current and faithful member. Presently, Donna serves as the Interim Pastor at Tabernacle. She was called to that position in January, 2019. In the past, she served as Associate Minister, Christian Education Ministry Leader, New Members Orientation Teacher and associate Bible Study Teacher for Tabernacle.
Donna has always exhibited a gift for teaching and a desire for motivating and inspiring other individuals through her words and the Word.  Perpetually, she has possessed a hunger and love of the Gospel. The Lord nurtured and flourished this hunger and called Donna to preach the Gospel in June of 2000. She was licensed in 2002 and ordained to formal ministry in 2013. Understanding the importance of being equipped and serving as an effectual vessel for the Lord, Donna has attained much preparation for her journey and calling by completing and earning the Doctorate of Ministry Degree from Northern Seminary in Lombard, IL. Additionally, she has also earned multiple advanced and graduate degrees in educational leadership and business administration.
Donna most recently served as the Director and Principal of the New Testament Christian Academy, having served there for thirteen years. Prior to New Testament, Donna worked at Messmer High School for over a decade, where she served as Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, Theology Teacher and Girls Varsity Basketball Coach.
The genesis of her career began at US Bank and General Electric Company after completing her undergraduate degree from Marquette University.
The Lord has blessed Donna to facilitate and speak at diverse conferences, workshops, services and retreats. She has been fortunate and blessed to acquire many awards, honors and accomplishments over the years. Furthermore, she was the founder of Christian Fellowship Sportz and she also serves as a mentor.
In her free time, Donna enjoys traveling, writing and reading. She is forever grateful for all that her mother and father deposited into her. Her greatest joy is pleasing the Lord and teaching God’s Word. For all that has occurred, is occurring and is to come, she says, “To God Be The Glory.”
