Michelle Childs, Associate Minister
 

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Michelle Childs is the youngest daughter and tenth child of the late Richard and Ozella Buie. She was baptized in the Christian Faith in 1991 at Tabernacle Community Baptist Church, under the pastorate of the late Reverend Robert L. Harris. In her lay ministry, she assisted in the church’s nursery, sung in the praise team, organized and led a marriage ministry, and taught in the Church Sunday School. She was also an instructor in the Children’s Division of the Wisconsin General Baptist State Congress of Christian Education. Currently, Michelle participates in the Music & Worship Arts and leads the Andrew Ministry, the church’s evangelism arm. Michelle has attended the annual symposium on worship sponsored by the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the Hampton Ministers’ Conference at Hampton University in Virginia.
 
Michelle was formally educated in Milwaukee Public Schools. She received a Paralegal Associate Degree from Milwaukee Area Technical College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology from Concordia University of Wisconsin. She is preparing for graduate theological studies. 
 
Professionally, Michelle is a sworn Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system. She often travels in her capacity as a field interviewer to families in need.
 
Michelle is married to Atty. Milton L. Childs, Sr., and they are the proud parents of four children and seven grandchildren.
